Swiss movement vs Asian movement I assume. Alhough I'm pretty sure the swiss 7750 is a 9-9-12 chrono. Swiss version is 7753 (I think) witch has the 3-6-9 config needed for this watch. If so I'm guessing the swiss version is very pricey?

does this mean the swiss is a working chrono and the asian is not?

No, both work the same. Asian is a cheaply made copy of the swiss version. Asain version comes unserviced, so for guaranteed long life you should have it serviced. I am pretty sure the swiss version comes oiled. However, servicing is expensive ($200), so some people opt for no servicing, and likely less use from the watch.

Also, as swiss movement can be repaired by most watchsmiths and parts are available fore them. Asian, Not.

My suggestion would be to look at the Pam 192. Very similar watch that uses a copy of the Lemania movement, wich is pre-oiled and is more reliable than the 7750.

The "Lemania" is made by a different manufacturer (Seagull I believe). I the rep game the movement is generally dictated by the style of watch, subdial spacing, complications, etc. In some cases, you will find that a swiss version and an asian version will fit.

I actually think the asian version is a more accurate presentation when it's on your wrist. Albeit there will always be those who look at the entire watch to judge accuracy, I'm usually more concerned with the numbers and dial on a watch in such limited production that not even some retail dealers have seen the gen :D
