Are we sure ab the crown position for taking out the stem?? For my ap divers Ive greased I took the crown out in the winding position, position 1, using the 1.2mm with no issue. Hopefully I wasn't wrong!

I too would not recommend going in the pool/sea without it being tested. You're unlikely to have a leak in your crystal, but you don't want to be the guy who does!

To be honest, I really can't say - I'm ordering an FC diver later this month though and I plan to have it WPfed so I'll get back to you when I know.

appreciate that thanks ill be waiting:D

Slightly too much grease used there. Clean out the groves, and you want enough to make the O ring shiney, just. Main thing is t make sure its clean and no hairs

The grease does not seal the watch, it just aidsthe O rings to sit correctly when the caseback/crown are refitted

I used to service Nikon underwater cameras and have seen a load of leaks caused by over greasing, It attracts dirt and can stop the O rings moving into the correct position

I should have included photos of this in the post, however I did clean it up a little afterwards. As I understand it the grease is used to lubricate the gaskets and prevent wear/tear and bunching when the caseback/crown is tightened.

There is a special device with two grease-soaked sponges and you spin the gaskets around in it. It coats them with just enough grease.

Good guides mate!

But good guides mate! :)

but I'd like to point out that if the crystal was not pressed well water could also enter from this point , and even if the tube is not properly attached to the case with loctite...

However does anyone know if a noob explorer II V2 can safely use to swim after this treatment?
