Hi everybody,
I owns a Pam 172E from DSN....this watch is extraordinary well made but it's really noisy.... the ticking can get you mad!

do you think an automatic movement is quiter? i would like to buy the PAM 111H or 176 but the movement is tha same as mine...
any suggestions???

Damn, I would love to have a noisy watch :p

For all my watches, I have to get really close to them to hear anything :/

The handwind movement (as found in all of the 'classic' PAMs) does tend to be fairly noisy - doesn't matter whether they're swiss or Asian. They do vary, however - a well sorted 6497 isn't THAT noisy. A 111 or 176 will be the same movement btw. If you want an auto there are several models to chose from such as the 233, 270 and various chrono models - on the autos the 'ticking' tends to be quieter but the rotor can be noisy. Swings and roundabouts. Personally I wouldn't worry about it...

Ti cased watches are louder than steel cases, too. I've noticed that my A6497s tick louder than my Swiss 6497s, as well.

I love the ticking noise, ... you have to get close though in order to hear really well
I would not worry about it :)

so, you are telling me that the noise is normal in these watch and that it is good to feel the watch alive (sorry about my english...).

just a question.... considering that at the moment i do not own a gen PAM, does these watch mak that kind of sound?
