Tis a beauty. I have one question/comment why the cracked plexi. Wouldn't someone who had this watch have the crystal changed out if it looked this way. I like it better with a new crystal. It shows off the aged hands and dial better imo.

Wow - I love it; that movement is beautiful! I'll be following this thread with great interest. I do get the 'making history' element.

I was just on the Civil War battlefields of Chickamauga (GA, near Chattanooga) and Shiloh - border of Tenn. & Miss. - and saw some re-enactors. These dudes have aged their buttons; are wearing coarse wool uniforms in 30C+ (90s+) heat + humid, and are loading / firing their muzzle-loading rifles. They're just as full-on as you are enzo about bringing history to life ...

cheers, BBB

Funny thing....I machined a cannon for a Mr. Waters, who was used as one of the many people in the firing scenes for the movie. When I was working as a machinist, he came by the shop and asked if we could build a full size replica of a civil war cannon. I got some pictures around here somewhere of the main barrel on the lathe. We actually got to fire it a few times too.

... you only need one :) to have a perfectly happy life.

Angelus movements make finding gold nuggets on the beach commonplace in comparison ... every one I have seen, has been different. They are almost handmade in that aspect. They truly are grail items and it's not a wise quest to get tangled up in, very White Whale ... better to crave something accessible.

"Call me Ishmael." , but I need one of those movts or watches...

All in all, after reading all your work, I can only say "LOVE YOUR WORK".
