Hi all,
Yes I am a newb and it's my fault I have trashed the keyless on two movements, but does anyone have recs for something more robust that wont break the bank?
I feel like pulling the movement to clean the inside of the crystal two times shouldn't be enough to trash the keyless works.
Thanks!

You can get a genuine eta 2836-2 on eBay from Master of Time in Switzerland right now ($205). You may find it worth the extra $105. That's what I have done to replace a flaky Asian 2836.

If not, I think the best bet is to buy an Asian 2836 replica which you can find on Ali Express for under $100 US. Check under "Machine Parts Tools Store" . They are selling one for $78.26.

It is odd that simply removing your stem would damage your movement, and it happened twice? Were they gen Swiss movements?

Cheers

Can you post a picture of your problem ?
in my opinion, the keyless isn't broken but simply badly dismantled.
You can check this video to solve the problel yourself if it's this problem.
This is for an ETA 2824 and not for a 2836, but i think this is basically the same ( correct me if i'm wrong )

Thanks all. I think I need to learn more before trying more expensive movements.
On two different watches I pulled the crown using the little button gently, cleaned the crystal, and reassembled - all was well.
On both, I went in a second time to remove dust (big mistake) and on both the crown will not go in or click.
I looked into resetting the keyless and its over my head for now. Gonna set the movements aside until I am more skilled, then will go back and try and reset them.
