It's awesome that they're coming out with new color / material combination. Updated mouvement at the back and working power reserve, pretty sweet!

The main issue with the R8 Tourbillions is that they are 42mm, not 41mm as per what it's supposed to be. My guess is their tourbillon movement is oversized for the case, which is a shame!

I think they really nice for the money and I might pick up the blue one. The dial is dynamic and the watch is very well finished. Now I agree with the movement - I have a seagull tourbillon watch and its dimensions are 40x9.8mm. So it is absolutely possible to replicate AP proportions.

Also I noticed there is a design flaw in R8 bezel’s hole drilling process (for hexa screws)

Looks at the screw head orientation- they should be parallel to the cristal’s edge

But they are all wonky…

Not parallel to the crystal’s edge since it’s quite impossible for a straight line to be parallel to a curve but I do agree with your implied meaning that each bezel screw is designed to be parallel to a corresponding tangent off the curve of the crystal yes.

For me, the 1mm difference is a lot less significant than the fact that this is a watch costing a couple of hundreds of thousands in gen and it takes someone credible to make the watch believable in real life. But on the other hand, if the owner is happy with it on the wrist and couldn’t care less, my first point isn’t a concern at all for such an owner.

99.9% of regular folk have no clue of the brand except for Rolex
