Thoughts on the thicker 187?

I am deciding between 2 watches: the 187, but the thicker 19mm model and the Breit super chrono, which is also a big 49mm watch.

I am leaning towards the 187. Anyone have any thoughts on the 187? I am only interested in the 19mm model - any members have this model?

Thanks for the input gang...

19 - yeah, I read the gen was 19 and some dealers had some rep's of that size.

I like the larger watches and 19mm on the 187 would be perfect for me.

I wasn't aware there were two versions of the 187 out now. Only the current version w/ no AR and slightly different He valve.

PS> I will say this. You can't go wrong with the 187 if you love big watches. Very nice looking. Especially w/ a leather strap.

I went crazy last month and bought both (along with a few others).

Both watches are beautiful, but for different reasons. The 187 is the utility watch on steroids. The Breitling Bentley has a lot more "bling" factor, its dial size and bracelet scream for attention. In SUV terms, the 187 is a Hummer H!, while the Breitling Bentley is an Escalade with 26" chrome rims.

good comparison heavya. I have the breit bently and agree, it has some serious bling factor.

I am still trying to figure out if the 187's thickness is 15mm or 19mm in the same watch OR are there 2 seperate reps?

could be like the bentley, all kinds of measurements listed when it was pretty much the same size watch.

I'm 99% sure there is currently only one 187 available despite different pricing from all of our dealers. Varying price depends on number purchased, number of middlemen, and the time when the dealer purchased. The only other version was the watchonpo version with old 21600vph 7750, AR coat , deeply engraved caseback and engraved "He" valve. I'm also 99% sure the size of the cases would be exactly the same.

As for the Super Avenger reps. The newest one Trusty has looks the best to me. The dial is a bit closer in my opinion but the hands are wrong. If I'm not mistaken though all of the SA reps still use the older 21600vph 7750 movements. Also the bezel pearl may be off, haven't seen very good shots yet. If I'm not mistaken its supposed to be Tritium encased under sapphire. However there are many improvements over previous versions. The case, bezel, crown, case back, and even the pushers all look amazing!

Both will be great looking sporty watches. TTK said it well on another thread. We were discussing a comparision of the Bentley vs. the SA. And we agree that the SA looks more like a tool than a piece of jewelry.

As for me. The 187 is in my watchbox and the SA is on my shortlist!

Cheers,

Neil's 187

I thought he posted that his was 19mm and other dealers said 15mm. I'm sure they're all the same. Probably not the most accurate measuring devices.
