Thinking about a fiddy

Ok, so I have been looking at the fiddy's as of late and I have a question for all you guys that own one.

Are they really that much larger than a regular 44mm PAM?

The reason I ask is that my wrist is only 7.5" and the lugs on a 44mm come pretty close to touching each side of my wrist. My PAM 183 actually is a little over sized on my because of the lugs too. The 45mm case isn't too big, but the way the lugs stick out from the watch makes it look a little large on me. I am not a really big guy and I don't want this thing to look stupid on me. I have thought about the 44mm mini fiddy that is out there, but I really want to get the regular full size verision if I can.

If any of you have a 7.5" wrist and could show me a wrist shot that would be great.

Pam 187

I also a have a 7.5" wrist and wear a Pam 187 @47mm. Fits fine, yet I really don't care what others think.

I've got a couple of big 48 mm watches. I'm not opposed to large watches, and at one time I preferred them. Lately though, I've come to the conclusion that 42-45mm just seems to look better on my 6.75" wrist.

Well, Klink would say:

Wear it around your neck
with logo cufflinks for

earrings.

Life is good!

Seriously, get one and try it out.

A fiddy is fine, but I found the PAM187 is way to heavy and bulky to be a watch.

I usually wear my MBW1680. It's more comfortable than wearing a PAM.

I had a 127, now have a 217 and 187.

To be honest I prefer the 44 mm pams.

I like the 47mm's - so much so that I am not comfortable wearing a watch now unless its at least 44mm, so I have been considering selling most of my rollies.

the fiddy is a pretty massive watch, you know you have it on, but its not too heavy like the bentley or even some of the 44mm pam's. I just received a daylight from Razor w ss band and its a really heavy watch - which I like.

If you are a fan of a bigger watch, the fiddy is a must! Just make sure to replace the crystal. ;) If they finally make a 49mm ss bracelet, I'd love to try it out on the fiddy.

Good luck!

It 's really a mindset. I have a 7 1/2 inch wrist and I love big watches. I wear a 53mm Italian U-Boat all the time and love it. Great presense and great dial. I do not think the Pam 187 is too big or heavy and I wore my new "Fiddy" all this last week on a business trip to Chicago and St. Louis in comfort and joy. You put anything on your wrist and you will get used to it in 24 hours. I now will not buy any watch less than 44mm. That is why I will not need to ever buy a Rolex, just too small for me.
As far as my new "fiddy" from Andrew, I think it is absolutely beautiful. Great wrist presense and just a beautiful dial with those gold hands. It is almost an art-piece. And, knock on wood, my crystal has not yet exploded and thats with 5 days of continuios wear, night and day, on planes, dragging baggage, rental cars, late dinners the works. It is the best looking watch I have ever had.

I have a 187, 127, 217, RXWMM20, Vintage Base MM and one more on the way. I love the 47mm's - you get used to them and 44 seems small after a while. My wrists are average...

I say give it a shot.

@ roeod4:) Well i got the special order fiddy from Ruby

in her photobucket its labeled "marina " . take a look , thats my exact watch ! MUCH more beautiful than her pic! i love it
the hands are edged in gold and the swiss unitas 6497 , 17 j hand wind mvmnt is very very fine bead blasted and left in the silver. . not a tool mark on it .! it looks like velvet
the case is one iof the nicest finished cases ive seen . flawless polish.the cannon pin is recessed maybe 5-10 thousanths. is this considered recessed? its not noticible unless i use the magnifier . ive had this watch about 24 hours and its starting to just look BIG rather than HUGE LOL my wrist is 7 i/2 and the lugs are edge to edge but it does not seem overwhelming :)
i love the simplicity of this watch with just marina militare on the dial :) !
the strap is held on with 2 screws per side . not a bad strap , good enough but ill get a better one > all in all , outstanding

I've had mine a couple of weeks now and its never of my wrist
I will make a comment about the sapphire in them though, take a look at the dial
and see how distorted the numbers are, the first one I got the numbers
were really distorted, which pissed me off no end, when I got it changed over a different issue
(I never actually wore it) the replacement was a totally different look , much clearer , I dont
know if this is cos its a sapphire or not, the first one was supposed to be a sapphire , but I'm not so
sure. i wish someone else could clear this sapphire / mineral-fiddy issue up , its dead confusing

my fiddy has a high dome saphire as well .

because of the deep curve when viewed from an angle the numbers creep and crawl delightfully . thin flat non domed ones dont do this . its the nature of the beast :)
