Over the weekend I had to write some Matlab code for school. The program takes .jpg's and modifies them. To test my code I used some of my watch pictures to the effect displayed below:

It wasn't too complicated, and the result is a simple filter. Here, the images is "smoothed", then the edges are detected and assigned colors.

I understand this is probably not an original effect. But in my time here at RWI, I haven't seen this done too often so I decided to share.

This image may show why we enjoy watches with sharp edges and lots of textures. A flat dial probably wouldn't "pop" the same way the textured ones do. I may post an AP and a PAM later for comparison.
