Hello all,

I was wondering if you guys could provide your expert/personal opinion.

I am planning on ordering a 111h from angus, but it has an order option which includes Superlumed dials an hands + canon pin fix for and additional $60. I have recently asked the forum about the canon pin fix and learned that to make the watch as close to the GEN, it needs a canon pin fix. However, I don't know if the money is worth it since its more than I thought it would be.

The canon fix also comes with superlum, is there a significant difference in the lum if one gets it "super" lumed? is the GEN superlumed?

Thank you very much for your time and opinion.

just a pin fix will cost you easily about $ 100 alone.

for $ 60....take it. no question. i used to buy unmodded Pams....they are easy to call as a fake, one look.

I've got to agree,, if you get all of that for $60, I'd take it!

Also.. could you please post pictures of what you receive? Thanks,

Worth every dollar, especially on generaly simplistic Panerai watches where there's not much more than dial indices and hands as visual features, so if those bits are wrong and not up to scratch, there's not much point wearing one.

I refuse to wear PAMs that do not have those mods done. $60 is very very cheap for those items. I have paid much more. This is what is commonly referred to as "a no-brainer"!

Thank you all for your advise on the canon pin fix. I truly appreciate your help.

Daytona, if I do order from him, I will definitely post as soon as I receive it.

What about the lum? is it worth it? But more importantly, does the GEN model come with "superlum"?

Thanks

Yeas it is worth it for both upgrades. I've got a couple sitting here right now that won't get worn out of the house until they are modded. And yes the superlume is worth it as well. The standard rep lume leaves much to be desired. Biggest give away between reps and gens is the lume.

So does the REP have a weak lum compared to the GEN?

thanks

yes sir, the rep lume is weak and a gen pam has super lume. they light up very good. those are the first 2 mods i would do to it for sure. you can look at other things after you receive it and see if any of it bothers you enough to mess with it. i can assure you those are 2 mods you want and that price is unbeatable as far as i know.

Here's some comparisions to give you an idea of what to expect.

On the left an unmodded 217H with "rep lume" and on the right an Angus 111H with Superlume (both spent the same amount of time being charged):

Another comparision. On the left a 111H built/lumed by FlavorFlav and on the right the Angus 111H with Superlume:

I just got my first "real" PAM rep and the thing that is starting to really get me is the lack of AR. I think thats my first mod here soon.

:D :D Too much time listening to all the stuff you guys have to say. Sadly it means my 183, 210, 111E, 196 old case and some others spend a great deal of time just sitting until I can get them done. At least I'm not so anal that I won't wear this that or the other thing until the AR is just the right hue (at least yet anyway). I guess the next thing is I won't wear or build them unless I can get the correct casebacks for them :D .

Which model? Most PAM's do not have much in the way of AR. Most of them are single sided AR.

You guys make me sick.. wont wear it out of the house shit... lol

Its insane what people are willing to pay for superlume.. it is not like it glows like a torch 1 hour later.. the ultra bright look is gone after 5-10 minutes... still slightly visible (barely) after hours... you people are nuts!

If you want something that will burn like a torch.. buy Ball w/gas tubes..

(I say all of this while I'm letting the lume that I just applied cure on my 111H dial)

First try since March... got to get the thickness perfect (too thick it will cause the second hand to come off).

No problem NYC Tag that's why we're all here. After looking at Angus's site I'd also recommend that you spring for the sapphire crystal as well. I think you'll be disappointed with the mineral glass.
