Interesting article... It is not that accurate though (he claims higher end repPanerai costs 800USD++)... That's completely absurd.

Missing points: Crown thickness and CG, recess canon pin.

PS: davidsens fixed 2 above flaws but not the movement decoration... Anyway, the davidsen CN movement has power reserve exceeding the gen PAM movement.

Yep, good article. It is, however, over a year old which explains the lack of information that Takashi is speaking of. The recessed pin was not actually a problem back then. The dials were thinner and the pin was flush with the hands.

The $800-$1000 for a hi-end rep thing does kins throw me. I don't know who this guy was talking too. I can see it for a 196 with a Swiss 7753, but for a Historic model that is just crazy. I would be willing to suffer and sell all of my Panerai if that guys wants to buy them for $1000 each.

Oh? How much is a 196 Daylight? How much was the 187 before the floodgates opened? $800 isn't that far off.

How much does Watchmaker or whatever he's called charge for his custom jobs? How much would Enzo's Angelus cost?

ps. the article is from Feb 2005

@Pug: the article is about historic model with handwound movement... 196 and 187 fell outside that category.

Fair enough, then it's merely out of date. :D

I prefer the Super Hero name Obstreperous Lad.

Yeah, the article is merely out of date, that's all.
