How is the bezel on the SMP 300m? I know that the blue paint is quicky wearing off. Is it true? Does the bezel blue paint get scratched easily?

The blue is relatively hard to fade. Soft surface scratches will happen but are pretty hard to see unless held in light at specific angles.
If you were to ding the insert off a door frame or sharp edge, the blue will scratch deep and at that point you will see behind the blue anodized finish.

The gen inserts will stand up stronger over rep inserts of course, but they the gen inserts are still aluminum. They will scratch...All 3 of my gens (2225.80, 2221.80 and 2220.80) have scratches. 2 of the 3 are hardly noticeable, but my 2220.80 bumped a door frame and ended up with a deep scratch...its cut through the blue finish.
