Hi,
I am led to believe one of the best reps is the Santos. I'm quite keen to grab one but there appear to be a number of different types available, differing in size, movement and release date.

Could someone point me in the direction of the 2011 model, size, movement, that has drawn all the acclaim so I may throw away more of my hard earned cash with glee! :)

Edit : - Would this be the one to go for? http://www.puretimewatch.com/product/santos-100-ss-on-black-leather-strap-ultimate-edition-eta2824/
..or even one with papers and box at trusty! lol
Thank You
Phil

This one is good, the 2011 model that seems to get the most talk from my viewing posts on various sites is the Cartier Santos Chrono 7753. Its a bit of a bigger face then the one you have selected and the strap still needs to be replaced but its an accurate rep. I went to a Cartier store to try on a gen and its a nice one!

Thanks. It's definitely the non-chrono that I am after.

That one is the best one currently for the 100 and I must admit I am thinking of picking that one over the chrono as well so I can wear it as more of a formal watch.

I always look to a good Cartier Santos 100 non chrono.

It is very nice, but the cabouchon shouldn't be dark blue? I think the one PT is selling has black stone, or am I wrong?

Thanks,

Max

Nope, the Ultimate version has a dark blue cabochon, which is very close to the original.

I think its quite a nice rep, but the one I had totally freaked me out because of the buckle. Not only the look which is actual far away from the original but the function totally sucked. It always popped open while doing a hand gesture :/

Weird, I don't share this problem. It does feel kinda cheap, but it stays firmly closed - maybe you had it too tight on.

Hmmm....anyone have any recommendations for strap replacements? 23mm is a peculiar size.

Thanks

I tried it even with wearing the watch a bit loose around the wrist.
But I always thought that the buckle bugs me most on the whole replica watch.
The screws of the rep are amazingly different then the ones on the real deal.

How do you mean "The screws of the rep are amazingly different then the ones on the real deal."? How does this interfere with the locking mechanism?
