Sandwich dial

Hi everyone,

Looking for a new PAM. I want one with a sandwich dial with SS case. Besides the 111, is there another with a sandwich dial? Even better if it is a logo PAM.

I tried to look at some of our dealers' websites, but its tough going to look through all the pix.

It depends on how accurate you want it to be too a gen. The 111 and the 177 are the only 2 that have sandwich dials. The 111 is stainless and the 177 is titanium.

If you want stainless case, logo and sandwich dial you should be looking at DAM (Davidsen PAM) 005. The 005 never really came with a sandiwch dial, but Davidsen will put a sandwich instead of a sausage dial on it for you.

Davidsen just posted a 183 with sandwich dial and superlum...looks very nice...check it out in the dealer section.....

what is the diff with a sandwich dial? im confused....

The black dial (top plate) has the numbers (and slots for numbers) cut out as to display the bottom plate below
which is lumed. It looks different than just having lume painted on top of the numbers.
Look closely at the 111 and you will see what I am talking about.

oh ok gotcha....on the 111 is it more accurate to have the sandwich dial or no? im talkin to river about it and he is out of stock on the sandwich but has the non-sandwich....whats the general consensus?

I would wait for the sandwich dial. That is more accurate for the 111H.
He did not mention to me that he was short. Maybe I got the last one.
What color strap are you going to get?

Cool, I looked at my closet and decided that I have more that will match
brown as apposed to black. Easy decision for me.
I might be up your way in a couple days. Does Toronto have a "Rep scene"?
It's our 10 year aniverseray and we want to take off somewhere but within driving distance.
We live just north of Ann Arbor Michigan.

barely any rep scene at all!! im tryin to get a gettogether happenin but only have about 2 people interested!! im right downtown and we dont even have a comparable "canal st" here. Hopefully the interest will spike soon out here!! let me know if you need any help around toronto (what to see/what not to see) and where to stay out of!! just pm me and ill give ya some tips!!

(oh btw...is the non sandwich dial an older look? did panerai ever make them without the sandwich dial?)

I dont know if Panerai ever made a non-sandwich dial for the 111 or the 177.
I dont beleive they did but I am only basing that on the fact that I have never seen anyone
comment on one.

The Sandwhich dial is a 111H, the non-sandwhich ( called sausage) is a 111G. The G is the older version.

If your going for accuracy then it depends on which movt is in the 111 that your looking to buy. If it is the cdg(côtes de geneve) 6497(the wave look) then the sandwich would be the way to go.

If it's the repeated stamped name(panerai panerai panerai) movt, then you would want the sausage dial.
