Hi,

I have a little issue with the QC pics of Trustytime.

I've ordered a Sinn U1000 s Chronograph.

It looks OK so far, the timegrapher shows excellent results, but the lume marker on the bezel at the 12 o clock position looks odd to me.

What do you guys think?

Looks like it has some type of protective film/wrapping on it! Have you asked the TD?

That's what I thought too. I asked Andrew. He said that all PVD versions seem to have this problem. Although the pics on his site are totally ok.
However I asked him to switch for the SS version.
I wasn't really sure about the PVD version anyway. The SS has the advantage for me that I already have a matching gen bracelet.

But it's really unfortunate and I don't really understand what's the problem.

I would not accept that pathetic marker. Looks like the initial lume print didn't come out right and they tried to improve it manually.

Unfortunate development here: Now Andrew tells me ALL Sinn reps with the 7750 have that problem.
That's a little frustrating. First he tells me the SS version would be ok, then that they all have this problem.

What has the lume dot in the bezel to do with the movement anyway?

Lume dot has nothing to do with the movement. This must be a manufacturing fault though why it should affect all 7750s seems odd but the bezels probably all come from one factory. If you zoom in on the pics it almost looks like its covered with cotton wall. Whatever it is i would not accept it

Bezels for all 7750 Models with that flaw coming from the same factory actually makes sense.
It looks indeed somewhat "fluffy" doesn't it?
Well. Andrew gave me a 30$ discount and I already asked a forum member here, who does relumes, if he could fix it. And since the watch is OK other than that, I think it's OK for 188$. Even considered the relume costs.
I also have some connections to Sinn, maybe the case accepts an original bezel. And if I can get one for an affordable price I'll try that.

However, that being said, the lume dot on the U2 looks perfectly good (QC pic of the watch I've ordered at the same time):

Hello, this is good to know. I am considering the purchase of a Sinn U1000 from TT in S/S. I noticed that there are three prices for black: $188, $218, and $308. What one did you order? Also, the same goes for s/s, and there is a $338 model. I will have to message them, as I am scratching my head.

Hi. That's the 218 $ Version. I would buy it again, but eventually would consider the SS Version over the PVD. I dont know what's the difference to the 308 $ or the 338 $ Version. Maybe it's a newer Version with fixed Imperfections? Look for the markers on the Bezel and whether there is a "made in Germany" on the Dial.

Hello,

I don't know if this problem still exists as the OP is rather old.

However, you may consider ordering a new bezel direct from Sinn.
(or even the lume triangle on its own)

I have no idea if it will actually fit on the rep, but there is no problem in ordering spares direct from the factory. I recently had to replace the bezel insert on my 103stsa as it took a whack - the top dented and the triangle popped off...

Balls! For some reason I'd written a reply to you and it actually submitted as a report.

Apologies to the mod team for tha

Mea culp

On the topic of the Sinn 1000, it has been years since any were actually manufactured.
I think they were a BP factory product put any that can be found on market via a TD?
Are at best NOS that are v.old, or watches that have already been RL'd and are still in stock.

Good luck with your hunt, and I agree that New Sinn models are needed!
A good U50 rep would fly.
