PPF VC 4500V

I saw a post on reddit by user Q8watches, stating that PPF will release a 4500v with either steel bracelet or rubber strap. All four colors available.

I couldn't interpret if the movement is a clone. Anybody please chime in.

PPF is part of ZF now so at first I was not too enthousiastic about the release since ZF has released this already. However the text suggests a movement clone and that is very exciting!

My dealer told me more or less that same thing, Zf=ppf. That they make one version and regardless whichever you choose you'll get the same. I asked if my pending zf order will sport the same new clone movement referred to in the promotional text.

PPF is ZF. One thing I notice that's different to the already existing ZF 4500V is the stock rubber straps. It's my first time seeing a Chinese ad with rubber straps. The original ZF that the TD's been selling were not ZF straps, but from other factories.

I wonder if this release(?) fixed the crooked dial issue. I heard that ZF stopped selling the VC 4500V's due to this issue?

Rep game is full of mysteries yet to be solved....

Interesting to hear your view on the straps. Lucy told me that the zf strap is new since two days, and that I can order one now. She also told me that zf has been closed twice the last month and didn't accept or ship orders during.

Still waiting for more info regarding the movement.

Eric from Geektime told me they were the same as well. When I asked about the 5100 being a clone movement, he said he would ask the factory just to make sure. ZF/PPF seems open now, as he told me the ZF JLC Reserve de Marche I have been waiting for is also available now.

This is the exact same thing as the ZF, including the crooked dial... It's most noticeable on the black one above, which is quite bad. All the rest are various degrees of crooked.

yups, can confirm. My "ZF" one with crooked dial came with a PPF tag. It's just an updated poster for the 4500V, not a new product

Honestly, I think they're attempting a rebrand on this because of all the QC rejections they got. It was a black eye and people stopped ordering, so this is an opportunity to give it another shot.

Let's hope they step up their game and stop with this half measure spew frenzy. I am waiting for qc at the moment for a 4500v. We'll see. Lucy has sent back two specimens already because of movement issues.

Do you have any update on your new QC ?
I'm also keen to get this 4500V but have been scare doff due to the numerous issues with date window and bezel alignment and also now with the bracelet clasp issue ( pushers falling out )......

I got a good qc from Lucy's. She's always putting some extra effort in. She switched the watch three times before she got a good specimen. So yes, they are scarce.

Yes and it’s not just the aesthetics issues with the alignment of bezel and date. I hear the movement has issues with many examples having low amplitude numbers. Best to ask the TD to check the movement before GL on these ones.

Yep, that's the reason why Lucy swapped at least two. This one sets and winds smooth and confident. Took a while though.

Have you received the watch yet. Keen to hear your experience with it. So many issues with this release and interested to see if some have been sorted or not. The bracelet clasp buttons and the bracelet extension / slide is also a problem i hear and considering it's something used quite often, keen to hear from buyers to see if its failed them or if its now been rectified by ZF ?

Specifically:
The clasp push button popping out completely on one side.
The slide link extension feature is a nice touch but reports of it becoming loose and not staying closed don't sound too good ?

Hi mate, didn't have any issue at all with the one Lucy sent. She's really keen with the qc but it took about 4 or 5 months to receive it so it ought to. She tested the movement for a week consecutive on the one she sent me, with timegrapher. And all other qc test Lucy does. So if you want a 4500v, get in touch with her. It's worth the wait.
