Hi all,

Having last done the Gen vs Rep review on the White vs Black Explorer II (found on this URL: http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/comparative-review-rolex-92267), I had been on the mission to correct some of the flaws on the Black rep..

Took me a few good months to hunt down this jewel but I recently acquired this Black beauty from a local member and now I am proud to show you my complete Explorer II 39mm duo..

White "Polar" is a K series 16570 with Lugholes and SEL Oyster Bracelet

Black is a recent M series 16570 without Lugholes, SEL Oyster Bracelet and the newer Rehaut Engraving

Here are some close-ups of the aligned engraving..

So the question is: Which do you prefer and why?

White.
It just pops and doesn't look like every other watch on the wrist.

Both very nice, if I had to choose then it would be white, although I think adding both to my collection would be a good idea

White, this one just has to be in white. It's just another Rolex otherwise.
The white on the other hand is spectacular and somewhat unique.

White just seems to fit this particular timepiece.

White. It not only looks better, but I have too many black faced watches.

I like the white also. If it had a black bezel, I might lean towards the black, but that watch just has to be white dial IMHO. ;)

Black is by far the most stunning Rolex imao.
The white one does look like a casual standard watch.

White, for sure, since it's gen. ;) That aside, the combintion of crisp white dial with black hands and red GMT hand really pops!

I put both but really mean neither. These and the Yachtmaster are simply hideous.

LOL! "Hideous" is a bit too harsh, but each one on their own...

...I like both too, but my vote goes to the white version. I think the Explorer II just was meant to be white, it indeed gives an unique character to the white and the "Polar" nickname is perfect to its intentions and where it was aimed to be.

Thus my choice when I got mine was for the white dial....And add to that the fact that apart from the Daytona and some Yacht-Master Models, most of the sport Rolies had only black dial as an option.

If you can have both, then it just kills the doubt, and makes you a happier man. lol!
...Congrats about both of them, and wear them in good health!

Cheers,
Spirit.
