Hi,
Please see result of my photo-session of DSN superlume. The watch was charged for 15 minutes under 50 watt halogen bulb. Each shot was done with 5 minutes interval and 6 seconds of exposure, so you can see a degradation of superlume in 4.5 hours.

Wow, this is very telling. It looks as if there is no lume at all after 4.5 hours, is that correct? Great pic and kudos on the time spent making this. I appreciate the effort. :)

It's took almost 2 hours to set up an automatic shooting, then (5) hours of shooting and 1 hour to make a final file. But it was a very interesting to do.

I cannot imagine a more scientific method that could be used to show this. Congrats to a great post... May I have permission to use this image as a background on my computer (my personal use only)?

The lume was completely disappeared after 5.5 hours.

Yes, of course. If you need a different size, let me know.

This is so interesting that should be a parameter for comparisons with any lume...

...I´m gonna try to replicate this experience later with one of my watches, just to see after how many minutes (yeah, not very optimistic about the lume) it will last on different watches that supposed are superlumed and others that I know that aren´t.

Thanks for taking the time and sharing this! Great post!

Cheers,
Spirit.

I ever ordered some dials from DSN , and I found not all the lume those dials have are the same . But seems like the sandwich dials will be the same as the pics you show , but sausage can't be so sure .

Does DSN superlume all his watches? I bought one from him and it is great for 5-10 minutes then fades quickly. Also, why the big deal over this " superlume"? Seems like i had a swatch when i was a kid that held it's lume forever. What gives?

I used a Canon EOS Rebel T1i with EF-S 18-55mm lens and EOS Utility 2.8 for remote shooting.

I'm a little too experienced to have an informed opinion, but are the factories paying more heed to the need for lume? How long can lume last at best?

I'm a little confused. Would you expect a superlumed dial to have any after 4.5hrs?

I will conduct a test with my gen PO since Omega has one of the best lumes in the market. I don't expect it to last more the 4 hrs either.

I heard people talking about their lume lasting all night long but I'm yet to experience that with any of my C1/C3 lumed dials.
