No idea, but if an omega dial is $200, you can count on a Panerai dial being $500+ :)

The last time I saw a real dial for sale it went for $775. . It was new in the Panerai package.

That's friggin' absurd. The cost to produce is waaay less than that: the gross margin must be 90%. It's great marketing to capture that kind of parts' premium. But, the producer will charge what the marginal buyer is willing to pay, and if you can sell watches for $3.5k and up, then so it goes ...

after hearing about that guy who had to pay the extravagant amount for service from panerai i would think they would either be immpossible to get or next to immpossible with out just buying a gen.

If you know about Panerai..that price shouldn't be shocking even for a dial  the sky is the limit anymore.

The dials are simple enough that many modified rep dials are close enough for the money.

Speaking of gen dials. I'm waiting to get a price on a gen Breitling dial(not from AD). I tried the AD, the AD refer you to get them from BUSA in iwhich they want you to send the whole watch in for a dial switch.

Thanks LWA. Yea I know about watchpool.

I was checking his site for the past few months waiting for the color dial I wanted but he never had it. Plus you never can tell how damaged the dials he sells are until you get it in your hands. But on the possitive side, they are a hell of a lot cheaper!

In general, if you go to the AD to get a gen PAM repaired the parts are not anywhere as exhorbinant as buying independently. PAM does an excellent job of keeping gen parts off the market. So when PAM parts do sell they sell for ridiculous prices.

Good point kruzer... Anyway the Authorised Service Centre won't return any repaired/defect parts.

But I thought its like that for many brands. I thought Rolex was always the famouse one for doing that. Which makes me wonder how many gen parts get out there. The fact that Rolex produces about 600,000 watches a year I'm sure helps.

Some authorized repaired centre are instructed to destroy the defects part (which some don't do so). There'll be still loopholes in the system.
Thanks for the pointer. Currently no genuine PAM dial on sale and I am not willing to fork out 700USD. My budget is limited to 200USD (same as Omega PO dial).

Are you planning to put this gen PAM dial onto a PAM rep?

Or are you planning to use it as a blueprint to make rep dials?

*idea...*

Try davidsen's dial. He's preparing for updated dial with bolder fonts and better spacing. Or try jimmy fu's unbranded dial. It looks damn clean without any brand. Suitable for base PAM.
