geopatr69's 212

@geopatr69, I like your new 212: hope mine will be as good when it gets here (it's arrived in Dallas, so nearly here!)

One question: how do the chrono push buttons work? Does the top one start the timer, the bottom return it?

Thx - BBB

We've got the Asian version and very much liking it. Pics can be found on Eyecandy sections or dealers review.

Cool

So a lot of people go for Asian movement ? is it much more accurate to theGEN ? compare to Swiss ?

The difference is just the movement used. The casing, crystals and everything else will be just the same.

@Cracker: I believe you refer to the movement. Correct me if I am wrong. The Swiss version just differs in terms of movement. The case, crystals, crown and strap will be just the same.

well well

If in that case...everything is the same..only the movement...just buy the asian movement right? ..becoz in my opinion...its always on your wrist..and people usually dont look at the back of it..only you know ...

And a lot of people dont even know what PANERAI is..LOL ...so Life is Good..When Money is spend wisely...LOL...will think about it ..and keep looking around...Thanks gents...

No probz... In fact the Asian has the wording of OFFICINE PANERAI 30 Jewels CAL. OPXIX. whereas the Swiss version will be plain undecorated rotor. I have a Asian 7750 version 1 that lasts almost a year. Running good, keeping good time.

asian vs swiss

Typically I go w/ Swiss. I'vg only gone w/ latest 7750 Asian in the 212 because:

(1) Ziggy did a great review on it - says "ETA watch out..."

(2) I desire the more gen look; part of the pleasure for me is looking and photographing the back.. I want to see the OP XIX 30j cal. etc

You need to go check out Josh's site and look at his display back pics of the Asian & Swiss.

CJ went w/ the Asian, and I think he's a stickler for accuracy.

If only the Swiss had the engraving - but hey, if the back's not an issue for you, the Swiss will be fine!

The Swiss movt is a big envestment as it costs about $350+ as a part... so most people will risk the reliability issues of an Asian 7750 due to cost
I agree. But with the display back on this one, the asian looks more gen.
Now if the rotors...

$618 for the swiss
$288 for the asian

If I had to do over again, I'd get the Lemania version. And it is $228. I just like the looks of the manual wind type because it doesn't have the pesky rotor swinging in the view. I like all the cogs and it is finished nicely. IMHO

The picture in the bottom right of my signature, has the Lemania movement.

Try River, he may still have some more to clear :p Still my sugggestion, spend on the Asian 7750. Should the need arise, buying the whole Valjoux 7750 and installing it to your watch is not hard.
