If you don't know buy the Asian. The fact it says Swiss is nothing to go by remember it says Panerai on the dial and you ignore that so why assume the Swiss is the truth. They are available with both but you need t do more homework before you pay Swiss prices

asian 6497 has proven to be just as reliable as its swiss counter part.

the 6497 movement is very good for the 111h. I have T4D's Swan neck dagger 111h and it is actually pretty good. 60hours power reserve.

I am having a problem with the stem though and needs replacing, but the movement itself is quite accurate and no problem

Asian 6497-2 has slightly longer power reserve of 62 hours. Beware that there are a few variations of this movement. I found it the cheapest is the undecorated, crude, mimicking 6497-1, low beat. The really good one has decorated bridges (H series), swan neck and sword dagger. The word Officine Panerai on the movement should be engraved in, not sticker type. The wheel should also have sunburst effect.

62 is about the maximum I seen on these movements, it is the luck of the draw sometimes...

The Asian 6497 is closer to gen in terms of bph. The more widely availably swiss 6497-1 (relative to other swiss versions) runs at a slower bph. If you want closest to gen, it's the high beat swiss 6497-2. But no one offers that these days. Used to come in the old EL PAMs with the old bridges, but now no one offers them.

Both swiss and asian 6497 will run just as good once serviced. Some asian movements, if you're lucky, will get more than 52hr power reserve due to longer spring barrel. If you want more than 60hr power reserve, bring it to your watchmaker and have him replace the standard spring barrel with a longer one.

Most master modders out there prefer to build using the asian one. It's cheap as hell, same built quality as swiss, and performs as good if not better in most cases after servicing.

If you'd like to know whether yours is swiss or asian:
1. Look at the shock absorber for the balance wheel (most recent swiss has the novodiac, asians copy the incabloc - the one with the two half-circles).

2. Get a loupe, look at the plate underneath the balance wheel close to the outer perimeter, you should see an ETA stamp there if it's swiss.

11 hours max with new Davidsen DSN 111h

I just got (one week ago) the new Davidesn DSN Pam 111h fully modded. With the watch completely stopped and applying 21 revolutions with the winding crown, I only got 10 hours and 56 minutes of power. When I wind the watch I start to feel resistance at about 20 revolutions, in fact beyond 21 revolutions the crown actually moves backwards (a little odd). I guess 21 revolutions is the max amount I can wind the watch. 10hour and 56 minutes is more than enough to wear during the day or out for the evening. I guess that's what you get with a Rep. I still like the watch, I just would never rely on it for keeping accurate time or keep an appointment. Maybe a full service would help. Don't know.

that is strange... It should be able to go 50 to 60 rounds, did you release the lever?

Get it serviced, there's definitely something wrong with the winding gears.

I know DSN said that he service and regulate his watches. I found that inaccurate. You should treat it just like any other rep PAM in this respect.

That is really weird. Send it back to DSN. I have a DSN127E, unserviced and it holds 50hrs.

Keep winding until you can't wind it any more. Trust me, you'll know when you've reached the limit.

You should need about 50 or so winds at least. I'm certain you're not winding it up fully.

Don't waste your money on a service, yet and DEFINITELY do not send it back, yet. There is likely nothing wrong with your movement...

It really is the luck of the draw.
I bought 4 movements from same vendor and 2 get 48 to 50 hrs power reserve and the other 2 only get around 38 - 40.
