My first response was " you have got to be kidding! " This, in my opinion, is just sad. Funny as hell that some one would come up with this, but sad to think that anyone would be stupid enough to think this was a good idea.

Here is my Cliff Clavenism related to this Post.
During WWII Rolex would allow British POW's to take delivery of a watch during the conflict and incarseration. They would recieve a note payable on demand when they were released and home safe after the conflict. The German's allowed this and it is suggested that these watches may have played a major roll in the true story of "The Great Escape." It's really cool story.

Maybe Rolex could offer a deal for Trading in a Counterfit. Payment would be due when all the Rep factories stop making them.

I've always wondered about gen rental... if you were going to an upmarket wedding and rented a suit, why not rent a high-end dress watch for the occasion too? Makes more sense than buying a $20k watch to wear a couple times a year.
