hey Pam guys...

as u might know i have a gen 16610 sub. for some reason Panerai is callin my name! who am i to ignore it? anyways...im torn between the Pam 111 and the Pam 177. any differences other then the Ti case? I just want something basic no date or anything required. i tried on some gens at my AD and i thought they would feel too big...but they are great. i appreciate any info i can gather here before pullin any triggers...and where i can find the best quality one for the best price.

In the H series the only difference is the stainless or the Ti case. For the most accurate PAM out there, you could take a look at a DAM 005 (Davidsen Pam 005). From everything I have seen they are pretty dead on, minus the lume. I won;t know for a few days, mine is still enroute.

Just so you know, the main difference between an 005 and a 111H is that the 005 has the Panerai logo on the dial, a closed case back and no sandwich dial.

I've got the Swiss version 111H from EL too.... might have paid more than I should've but after nearly 8 months it looks and runs like when I rapidly took it out of the bubblewrap... I have a Swiss 127 on an UPS truck in my neighborhood somewhere right now... hopefully it'll be half as good to me as the 111H has been....

i pmd river about the 111.....im also gonna look into the one from silix as it is about 10 bucks cheaper....i dont know a whole lot about Pams but i guess the 111 is pretty accurate cuz there is not a whole lot on the face to have to copy.

Two well-known flaws: No Swan's Neck, dimple in the middle of the hands (Recessed cannon pinion).

Apart from that, it's all good, all time.

I've been getting some bad vibes through the forums about silix
you might wanna do some checkin for your self , personally I'd think twice

i gotta have the swan neck... i know it's practically (if not fully) non-functional.... but I just have to have it... and the bevel on the gears too...

silix is fine... they typically have a slower sale cycle so expect two-three weeks before you get your goods.... and the QC is not as tight.... but you do save a lot of money... i may get their cartier santos 100 eta because it's $100 cheaper than others like trusty offer it for...
