Some things are funny this is hilarious. Everyone here knows that I started the PVD Rollie revolution. People started popping up with some version of them after I began the project. The Pro Hunter wouldn't even exist now if it weren't for the interest that was generated for them. But this latest one takes the cake. My rep has officially been repped! Today I came across this being sold by the twins.

Now we'll just look past the obvious things (advertised as a Swiss eta, regular case shape with the Supercase CGs). No what gets me is this. I created the PVD Pepsi GMT. And to make matters worse Pro Hunter DOES NOT MAKE one! :p

I wish it were a matter of imitation being the sincerest form of flattery but I know it's not.

But Pro Hunter did make a black bezel GMT Master II.... and all the cartel is doing is throwing the extra bezel on it...

I don't see it as them taking after you at all.... they are making all of the pro hunters as they have done well.... pvd/dlc watches are in right now...

That is true. 100 pieces to be exact. The only model they currently make is a 50th Anniversary Ceramic. They never made a Pepsi. That was something off the wall that I decided to do after being asked so much. You have to admit the timing is very coincidental to say the least.

No, it's not coincidental at all... they're making 7 different models...

For you to think it... even if only slightly.... is pretty laughable...

They repped a model made by Pro Hunter.... then they threw on a bezel from the most popular GMT Master II model... I don't really think some factory in GZ saw your posts here and said "ah hah, that's it!"...

More like, we got all these red and blue bezels and they sell pretty good.... throw it on....

I must confess I completely (but respectfuly) disagree with LoS, I think the twins definitely look at sites like RWI, RWG,... as part of trying to get a pulse of the market... and they probably thought Fakey's was a good idea that didn't cost much to produce (they already produced the parts!). Whether their stock of pepsi bezels got difficult to empty or not is a different issue (and, like LoS wrote... it's one of their more popular model... so why would their stock of pepsi bezels be disproportionately high in comparison to their SS cases?)... but let's assume that an overweight stock did weight on the balance when deciding to put that model up... the inspiration to make a model that Pro-Hunter doesn't make is suspisciously funny to say the least... IOW, I think it's funny, but not at all for the same reason!

And if I were one of the twin, why would I not be "inspired" by something from RWI, RWG,... ? They're in the business of reps, no?

Just my barely over 600 posts' opinion! :wink:

okay, okay, it's becoming clear that i'll have to come clean with it...

i'm the one who gave the twins fakey's watch n told them to rep it (i get a piece of the action).

i also am the one who came up with marketing campaign: "built meticulously from a dissected genuine; 1:1; 12 months in the making!"

i also felt that "synthetic sapphire" was a much more palatable (and likely, confusing) term than mineral crystal.

however, they have repeatedly used, without my authorization, my term "genuine Swiss movement". i'm not seeing any of THAT creative profit! that's just going too far...

I did too... send all my Fakey projects to them for a nominal fee, a discount on all future reps-more-gen-than-gens, and... (this was the deal maker)... dinner with Ahw at my fav restaurant: Chez Moi!

I did... but the Swiss-I-swear-Swiss-280'000+bps-real-ET(f$%in')A mvmt broke while tying my boots... that rep died and, literally, never made it to the field... but it's 1:1, so I still wear it... you know, for show!

BTW and for anyone interested, the place I got that 1:1 rep also sells Big-Ones... pills that make your balls look like they've just been kicked... but without the pain... PM me if you want the website! If you cannot afford Big-Ones, stop by, I know a different method... but I cannot rule out it won't hurt.

Ahw: I don't, I like food with buns... I like it A-LOT! :roll:

If it makes you feel any better, no one has actually ever killed anyone for me before. Chances are that you'll survive. :)
