When I thought I was out, they pull me back in......
Here 's my new baby, my DSN 203/a. This arrived last Friday and the T crown yesterday. The case has been slowly buffed down with a Cape Cod cloth, knocking out the overt DSN matte finish. A few areas received a wadding cloth which polishes and lightens the PVD to a natural gunmetal color. I've also dinged and scratched it through normal usage, and managed to scratch my wife's new car with it.
I installed a T crown with new winding stem, the challenge was that his crowns are deeper than DSN's, which presents a problem with the CG lever. There was enough length on the lever to make a good "snap" with the crown. I added two rubber gaskets to the crown for snug fit and increased water-resistance.
Unfortunately, I'm not able to get the crown closer the case without sacrificing the lever snap, but I think I might be splitting hairs. The CG was polished with a silicone Dremel polishing bit, then counter sunk as per Gen.
And the wrist shot...
