Contact Trevor. He was able to source a crystal for my PAM 253. He may be able to get them for the mini-fiddy as well. Just FYI, you may want to wait till you need to buy a watch. The price of the shipping is as much as the crystal - 30 bucks each. I ordered a watch with free shipping and had the crystal packed with the watch.

Wow. Was it the Swiss 7750, or Asian 7750, or manual version?
I am very interested as I am considering buying one of them...

Lumpy, that sucks. If you see the other thread about TWP's mini-fiddy, you'll see that I'm trying to source a plexi domed crystal for mine. Could you, by chance, get an accurate measurement of the diameter of the inside of the case where the crystal mounts? This would help us all find replacement parts. There has been some speculation that since the mini-Fiddy case uses a bigger dial than most 44mm cases, it may require a larger crystal, too.

Please get a measurement if you can.

Thanks!

i do not have a micrometer at hand but using a precision rule it is 37mm inside.
if you have any luck finding plexi crystals please pm me. ill buy some as i have another ticking time bomb here.
my other mini fiddy is sure to go off soon too :(
lumpy

edit:
so looking at the cousins site i suppose i would order a 37mm and a 36.8 just in case.

What about PMing TWP?

well i'm sure he would find me a direct replacement. he is always good about things like that. however i figure it would prolly suffer the same fate. seems like all the min glass domes are overstressed. if i cant find true saphire ill go with plexi.
ill drop him a line though just to be sure :)

The link that SSS provided has some handsome looking "low dome" crystals. I'm gonna order a 36.8mm, a 37mm and a 37.2mm. We'll see which one fits the best.

Thanks, sssurfer!

Well, I'll order tonight when I have my CC handy. My debit card doesn't like WorldPay, evidently.

This is pretty relevant, huh. Hooligan, which one are you ordering?

Nevermind -- just saw you said "low dome"

One thing's for sure though, that 35.5 acrylic that I just ordered is going to be too small. It was very, very inexpensive, though, so no great loss.

Yeah, I'm surprised that these mini-Fiddy crystals are that much bigger than the "normal" 44mm cases.

Davidsen's vintage plexis are 40mm, though. Far too big for our purposes.

They're cheap enough to order a few of them. For what it's worth, I think the acrylic crystals might be better anyway. Obviously sapphire would be ideal, but the acrylic will hold up pretty well, too. Easy to buff, easy to replace.

Plexi is even preferable to sapphire for my "vintage" watch.
