Hi all, ok so I have a Panerai rep and I like to mod it. Right now it has an automatic movement in it that sucks (when you push the crown in the minute hand jumps!) so I like to swap out the movement. I like the open back look but seems like the only thing I can find out there is the Unitas 6497 manual wind? Problem with that is I have a cyclop in the front. Is there an automatic version of this? Preferably also with date? I've looking around and cant seem to find such animal. Any help is appreciated! Thanks

If you already saw 6497 movnt inside , the case set might only fit the manual 6497 series .The case sets for automatic movnt like 7750 or 2836 , 2892 is different from 6497 . And also the crystal , crown ... are all different .
Anyway , it's not a mod question to replace a manual to automatic .

I got this a looooooong time ago and the back says firenze 1860. Cant tell you what movement is in it yet as I just ordered a tool big enough to open it and its on its way. Will let you know though once I get it open. Thanks!
The suspense is killing me, post some pics! Don't bother with the tool, get a wad of sticky tape. Press against the caseback and turn.
Ok here it is, the suckovement.......I actually used a large plyer to force the thing open...scratched the crap out of the back cover but dont care since I want to replace that too...

oh ya simple 21j. You're better off just buying a new watch. It will be a LOT less stressful and probably be less money in the long run.
BTW next time wad up a ball up duct tape and then push that against the case back and twist....no scratches
