Just Another TT Build...

This one is still in beta phase,,, lol. I really got lucky on the parts. I'm in it really good considering everything is real 18k ....there's a gen insert and dial on the way,,,,that'll complete it... but here's the specs so far:

Gen crown 18k

Hardly just another tt build. Good job on this. How's the bezel, is it pretty tight? Thought I was the only one nuts enough to go this far!

Just a few more,,, I'm really loving this build ,,,,ive decided that even though this one is powered by a 2824-2,,it'll be the last one I use,,, I'm going to order 2836-2 from here out,, I know they're very similar but I believe the 36 is more substantial and a better movement,, it may be in my mind but I definitely like the 36 better,,, it doesn't seem as finicky.

I wanted to take shots as I was putting this one together but honestly the bezel ring really threw me for a loop....lol
Rudy 40 was with me while I was starting with the ring.... lol I'm glad he doesn't take me seriously :goat: or I'd have probably lost a friend for sure......

So here's a tad bit of technical info for anyone considering this,,,,,,,the WSO or ST 18k bezel ring doesn't fit on the after-market retainer they sell so don't waist the 70 or so bucks they charge for one.... the best you'll do is a WM9 retainer or a TC will do,,,,neither is a good fit and you'll find yourself sanding the retainer,,,, this is tricky because if you create a flat spot in the retainer, it's pretty much ruined,, so the best thing I found for doing this is a foam sanding block from the hardware store..... once you've got it sanded down where the ring will actually snap on the retainer you'll then find that it won't spin, at all! That's when you'll have to take a small screwdriver that fits into the slot in the gold ring and carefully scrape out tiny amounts of the gold ring to form a nice track,,,at that point you'll be getting very close and it'll just take several trial runs until you find the exact fit.....

All in all because of this problem with the ring this build isn't for the beginner.....

I really love these mid links ,,,,while they're def not Rolex,,, they are still beautiful....I'll take my time and eventually find a gen bracelet but for what I paid for these and the fact that they are 18k in the right places, it'll get me by till a good deal on a gen comes along.

I really have learned so much since joining this forum,,,,, and there's still so much to learn,,,,,this forum and it's members is really a awesome place....

I know a lot of the newer guys think Im a prick for slamming on sub-c so much,,, I love sub-c as much and probably more then everyone here.... I just know as long as we Oow and Aah over these new bad ceramics they release, we're never going to get a shot at having them fix the major issues.......

I swear to you guys,,,, if you watch what happens when a new Pam is released the PAM team here gets to put their inputs and suggestions in and the makers actually listen to them and make adjustments

All I'm saying is we need to get better organized here in the Rolex section where we may can get something good to happen for us..... I mean we need to stop fooling ourselves about these watches,,,,, we shouldn't have to take parts from two watches to make one decent watch then that insert is just unbelievable.... it's the wrong F'ing color for Christ sake! We shouldn't have to go buy model car paint to make our numerals the right color! And even then it's still too bad for any person with half descent vision to accept....

So please you guys don't think I'm such a prick,,,, this is something that I've really put alot of time and effort in and all I want is for us to get the opportunity to get really good quality replicas of the sub-c model..... these vintage builds are great but they're a thing of the past..... sub-c is the here and now!
