Alright so I need to post again and I thought I would come up with a cool topic that we could all bond over. So lately I’ve been obsessed with watches and I’m looking at a couple dope replicas. But I was just wondering. How illegal is what we do? Because after all these aren’t the authentic watches. Please share your thoughts, facts or experiences family.

I only buy watch that works.
I was told that Rolex is a good brand so I always try to find a good deal. Apparently in China, Rolexes are always on sale; they are like 75% to 90% off of the retail price. So I buy a lot of them.

its not illegal to own replicas in UK but illegal to sell them.
It arguably is illegal in the UK, though doesn't get prosecuted as such according to this article:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/moslive/article-1019598/An-idiots-guide-buying-fake-Rolex.html

Relevant text:

'Counterfeiting is one of the world’s biggest growth industries and now accounts for five to seven per cent of all global trade. In the UK alone, the black market is worth more than £9 billion. It makes me wonder, have I just broken the law?

I talk to David Grome, a barrister who specialises in prosecuting cases relating to counterfeit goods. He assures me that while it is theoretically possible to say that someone who knowingly purchases a counterfeit watch is aiding and abetting the commission of the offence by the seller, buyers in the UK (unlike those in France and Italy) are never prosecuted.'

I had the snip 7 years ago. Does that make my bawlz no longer ‘authentic’??? Hope I don’t get caught by the cops, or at least hope he’s nice and delicate as he inspects the merchandise [emoji23]

Seriously, as TB says, it depends where you are. Generally, you’re fine. Are they illegal, well in basic version, they bear trademark designs and logos that effectively mean they are copyright infringement.

Production and selling of counterfeit products it's illegal. Buying in many countries it's illegal too, but very hard to prosecute. I did not know they were fakes works well...
