Help Needed! Is it Real or Rep LV???

Mentioned to a female coworker that my wife's birthday in a few weeks and she would love a LV, but I would never pay that much for a purse, she said she had a spare one at home that is still new that she brought from Europe 5 years ago.(She has more than 1 that i have seen her carry and i think she came from money back in germany). She Brought it in and dropped it on my desk and said "here you go" and she won't take any money for it! I want to make sure it's real before giving it to my wife , if it is I will definitely do something special for my coworker to repay the favor. Sooo, what's your opinion... Real??

Rep, Frenchman's words... And I would say "fake", IMO a garment can't be replicated, replicated in the worlds we mean it.

But quite well made i guess. The plate is just too scratched and the zip too cheap, but the leather looks with good througout the pics, and the sewings as well.

LV bags are like high end gen watches, there should be virtually nothing that looks off/wrong. The stitching should be always be the same distance from the edge of the leather. This is not easy to do and its part of the reason the gens cost what they do.

I think the last photo has the most obvious tell. The stitching there is uneven and the red pigment is sloppy. All of the leather also looks inferior by comparison to gen.

I never know how to tell between an authentic and a fake LV product, learn something today.

the tag is another tell. i got those from china for years. purchase one from an LV boutique and it will look nothing like that.

I will add what clued me in, I saw the number sticker on the tag. That is the same type of sticker and font that is extremely popular with the number tag machines in China.

That combined with the pull on the zipper. The plating on the pull was thin and uneven along with the pull jut being conspicuously less in strength.

I have purchased fake bags in China, it is clearly a fake. However, 1. she, the woman who gave it to you, may not know it is a fake; if she did, she should have told you 2. It is still a decent bag. Considering that your wife probably knows you have "fake" watches; as such, there is nothing out of line with giving her a "fake" bag. Just make sure there is another gift in it.

LV tries not to cut the logo, but in some cases it will happen on certain handbag shapes. Just checked the LV website and found a few examples of this.

I dont think so, look at the third example i posted, it clearly cuts the LV in the zipper.
