That will work just fine. I buy mine from my pool supply store in a 1 oz. tube.

Thanks. Also, do you have to take the gaskets out of the crown/tube to lube them, or do you apply it with them as they are currently installed?

You can lube them in place, just don't over do it.

If being bought in an auto supply store "rubber grease" will do the job. It's made for lubricating rubber brake parts before assembly.

I use "Di-electric Grease" or "Bulb Grease" from an auto shop.

They are both the same thing (silicon grease that is non-conductive and waterproof).

Slicone grease

I use Silicone 7 and Dow Corning O ring lubricant professionally . The Dow is better for black rubber gaskets and the Silicone 7, while good for gaskets, I use on threads.

BTW, just discovered that they sell little jars of silicone grease at Home Depot. Under $2. Just have to look for it in the faucet repair isle. Now I have to find something to apply it with...

Just buy a set of small good quality brushes from a modelling store.

I have some lithium grease, does anyone know if that is ok?

Haven't greased any of my seals yet but 4 of my reps have been tested and are all water tight for normal use (after a caseback tighten mind you)
