There is someone on Instagram with the handle the_swiss_specialist who says his name is Domi. I got in contact via DM on IG to ask a simple question about tweaking a Valjoux 72 movement, and have been bombarded with DMs as well as Whatsapp messages (I guess my mistake for giving him my #) telling me to send the whole watch (not just the movement) to him in London to work on. All my instincts tell me that this is a scam, but wanted to confirm with anyone who has dealt with Domi that this is not in fact him. I have a London shipping address (which was the first red flag as he is in Germany to my knowledge) to cross check as well as a phone number. I'm not planning on sending anything at this point, but still wanted to confirm if this is a scam and if so, to let folks know to be careful. Thanks in advance for the help!

I will indeed PM him, but per his section, people have been having a difficult time getting in touch with him lately so I figured an open inquiry could yield a faster result.

I'm saying you are incredibly gullible. The fact that you are even considering sending your watch off to this guy is mind numbing. Even his account on IG is private. Do yourself a favor and use a vendor from RWI or from some other reputable watch forum. IG is full of scammers.
Thanks Cheeps , that is exactly what I was looking for. Tucker , perhaps if you went back and re-read what I wrote you would see that I was not planning on sending him anything, let alone a whole watch. Of course IG is full of scammers, and the community should work together to verify the validity of anything, which is what I was doing here. And for what it's worth at this point, the IG account was not originally private.
