Glad to see there are some Billy Shakespeare fans here! I have the pleasure of holding a perfectly worthless degree in Elizabethan Literature.
My favorite Shakespeare factoid is that 'nothing' was slang for the female genitalia in the 16th/17th century. Therefore, the title 'Much Ado About Nothing' literally translates to 'Much Fussy Over Pussy.' Enjoy.
Also, Everyone gets the meaning of 'wherefore' wrong in R&J. It does not mean 'where are you' -- she's not so stupid as to not know he is underneath her balcony. It means 'why must you be' Romeo. As in, 'I'm in love with you, but why must you be the son of a rival Lord.' It makes the soliloquy much more poignant.
And he invented or first used about a quarter of the modern English language ...
