That very thing seems to have been a useful tool for almost 3 decades now for the 29 year old "multiplatinum recording artist and Broadway star." Funny, now that he's got fame and more cash than he could reasonably spend and wants the family thing, it's not so important to hide.
I could be wrong about this, but then it ranks among the largest and most convenient coincidences ever.
Man, I'm sorry I read the rest. Now he has managed to drag the Christians through this, be openly endorsed by GLAAD, and sully Monty Python's good name and body of work.

I don't think anyone care if he is gay or not. It is just the humor of making a shocking announcement that is the equivalent of announcing that the sky is blue.

Not like everyone didn't know. The point is he could have said something anytime during his entire life. But he didn't. Even after he won American Idol he didn't say anything. And the reason was because it would have limited his success. All the Claymates that bought his records and came to his concerts are no different than any other obssesed fan. They all had secret hopes that they could be Clay's girl. Now that is off the table. Since he announced it his sales have flatlined. The same thing hapened to George Michael. But he doesn't care anymore because he's made his money. He's a hypocrite.
