As a new member I came here as most do.. searching the interweb for fake rolexes. Upon my arrival I had no idea who PAM was and why everyone seemed to like her "lume" so much; sounded kinda freaky to me..

As I continued to read thread after thread after thread I had a revelation and realized what this big deal was and now I want one.. So this post is to thank all of the members who made this watch obsession begin but to also say that I'm now on the hunt for the one I can't have due to in not being produced (so I'm told)...

Luminor Marina Automatic power reserve blue dial and strap... thank you guys.

Mate, I'm sorry but you're definitely hooked

I only say "watches" when talking about this hobby, and if asked, I prefer the expression "high end replica watches" to "fake watches" :)

You say that as if it's a bad thing. :biglaugh:

When you start critiquing crown guards and case backs then you're completely hooked, IMO.

Not that that is a bad thing! It is happening to me!

As I'm looking around the prices seem to go from one extreme to the other. At this point I think I'm pretty good at spotting the difference between a cheap rep rolex and one that's quality.. i really need some direction on the Panerai.. I see that Time4Direct has Pams for 88 bucks right now and it looks like MR is over 200 for what seems to be the same watch.. Help a brother out on this.

Oh, my. I respect your plea for help, my friend. Honestly. But the answer is found at the bottom of a deep well of research. I say this because of my experience here. I have walked a mile in those shoes...

Case. Dial. Lume. Movement. Crystal. Crown guard. Crown. Wire lugs' size (Radiomir cases). Bezel. Strap. Availability. What am I missing? :lol1:

I started with an economy model to see what it looked like on my wrist, got hooked and never turned back. :sam:

You can still run away and keep your savings. It's up to you! :biglaugh:
