I want to buy a Cartier Santos, but I am not sure about the version of this one. Experts, please, chime in.

Your help will be appreciated.

I would consider that the ultimate version. The tell is the X XI closeness. you pic is what you want to see.

As to the later ultimate or the earlier ultimate, it is hard to tell. the only diff I can recall is the engraved rotor on the latter ultimate. But you'd have to crack open the caseback for that determination.

Thanks. It has the engraved rotor. So, it should be the latter Ultimate.

Hey guys, correct me if im wrong, so the most gen-like is the tip of the X and XI touching each other?

Ultimate or not, this is a nice looking santos rep. I am familiar with this style, since it's pretty new and the only currently available on a bracelet. Cartier stop making the Santos 100 on a bracelet a few years ago, but the bracelet is a huge plus to me for the rep. It is very hard to source a decent aftermarket strap for the santos and the deployment clasp is really crappy on the santos. The bracelet solves the strap problem and has a much better clasp. Only negative on this version is that the spinel set in the crown is a bit too royal or sapphire blue and should be more navy. That said, no one in the real world will ever notice.
