I really like that watch but I am really concerned about the gold. Eddielee advised to stick with the stainless models and I kinda agree especially when PAMs require winding and the crown and crown guard will be subjected to a lot of wear and tear. The gold could be rubbed off. It's worth looking into for such a sharp looking watch. I have not seen it with a gold bracelet. :)

typically not a fan of gold, but that is a sweet watch. i have to agree, though, that gold rep watches are trouble...unless you don't mind getting a very limited usage out of them.

check your phone book, or fave jeweler for jewelery plateing

companies , i had a co. in la THICK gold plate a colibre lighter. it was still perfect after years of pocket wear and tear. it cost me 20 $ i also had a movado museum watch [ a cheap rep ] that the gold lasted about 4 months of continuous wear, then showes ss everywhere !

I absolutely love this PAM. The guy who sold me my car (it was a Land Rover Volvo dealership, seemed like all the salesmen wore reps-- but shit, they probably do make good money) had this exact watch on. Black croco too.

Is EL the only guy who stocks this?

... i just thought of how it'd look in rose gold and it brought me to tears.

You can gold plate yourself.. and the link given, Caswell, has technical dude that will help you through the process.. for a pannie bracelet, a small 'tank would work a treat..

Should one experience failure of lesser quality plating, one can do send a watch out (expensive) or one can "Do It Yourself": http://www.caswellplating.com/index.html

Cheers,
K

Might be a bit OTT for Panerai given the brand's heritage - but as the posters above indicate, it's do-able  :)
