Thanks to Davidsen for the wonderful domed plexiglass crystal, thank you Reelamore for the RXW case, and thanks to Marco for the vintagized MM dial - these were a match made in heaven. Now, I just need a hand set that'll work with the cal. 616 movement, a crown (soon to arrive from Davidsen), some engraving AND assembly!! The crystal and case, though, were a major step forward. I'm very pleased with the progress so far. I've decided to keep the brevet 6152 as is, perhaps just getting the screws de-blued and the movement oiled/timed. Here are pics:

Looking good. :D ...

I also need a handset for the 616 Cortebert' and assumed they were of the same fit as a Russy Moljina.

If not if you get measurement of the diameter of the sec pin I'm sure DS can custom make it ..no?

Let me know and I'll order a few too to make it more equitible for him.

Nice work, and good luck! :D :D

The pride of ownership in the finished watch will be high indeed. Particularly after making all the carefully considered decisions along the way. I can't wait to see it on a suitably distressed strap. Very, very nice work!

Thank you. The strap choices are mind boggling. But, I am narrowing down to a Greg Stevens (crazy horse, or?), a XaMas MM strap, a WWII ammo strap from Bruce/Kevin, a Bachetta Meile from Dirk (via Bruce), or one of these vintage straps from Micah. I've ruled out the Baseball strap from Europelli because of the lack of long lengths.

What about a military spec strap from Manifatture Firenze, e.g. 1942 Tan?? There's also naval grey ... WW2 natural, "WWII edges finished with a particular processing that gives the strap the "vintage" finishing touch."

Ah, thank you for reminding me . . . . forgot about MF. I'll make my decision when the watch is assembled and ready for a strap. Thanks for the suggestion.

Gregs straps are outstanding and I love the crazy horse too.

I found a good deal on a GS crazy horse. It measures 26/26/145/85, so it's nice and long for this vintage project. I'll call it an early birthday present to myself.

That is nice and long, but the holes look way up on the strap? Like they are fitting to a smaller wrist even with the extra length.
