It's purely the aesthetics of this one that led me to choose it. Any reason why those are better? how is the movement in this one?

I was thinking about getting this particular watch:

http://www.trustytime.com/index.php?mai ... e2c5ef34c4

and was wondering if the movement in that rep is as unreliable as the movement in the Rolex Daytona, or is it heads better because seconds are run at 9 instead of 6 o'clock? Does anyone have this one or can anyone provide any feedback?

http://replica-watch.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6369&highlight=7750b1

Then search for Ziggy's review..I can't remember if its here or at TRC..

I do know the high beat 28.8k asian is the best to get so avoid the other older ones.

There are other issues that are in the database here, search for 7750.

Hope this helps.

Let me take a shot at this, but I will admit early on that I'm not that knowledgeable.....

the problem with the 7750 on the Daytona is "seconds at six" and the number of added gears necessary to make the movement emulate the gen Daytona. These additional gears place added stress on the movement and make it more prone to failure. Additionally, the original 7750 were known to be fairly "dirty" and not all that well made although Ziggy wrote that later models were better.

You'll notice that the PAM you're looking at has seconds at nine which does not require the extra gearing....less stress, more reliable. Now if the PAM you are looking at also has the faster beat 7750 B1 (28800)...I think you're in pretty good shape.

Technical issues aside....I'd still get the 111H if it's your first Panerai....I have one and always seem to go back to it....

i have the GMT pam 089 on bracelet and the dial is by far absolutely beautiful...very close to anthracite and shows gray in some lite and blue in others.

i just think the basic 6497 movements are great to start with and i feel the 183 and 210 are very close to the genuine as is the new 111H.....the 47M pam 217 and 127 are great also if your looking for a larger panerai.

enjoy the pam fever

There are no rules or set paths to buying Pams..its just what you like..or as you stated what "hits you".

Any and all reps ,as you may know, have inherent problems even the so called Swiss ETA 6497-1 based ones.

So IMHO find a model that you like visually, then try to find a dealer with a good track record and your're set.

I love the PAM 89 look good choice....need the new 7750 though.

Ok, back to the topic...

I think I've narrowed it down to a couple different models. Both, or just start with one? Opinions, comments, etc?

The black one is Asian, brown is ETA--both 44 mm.
