Most customers suck, they're either very rude or plain old cheap and always want a discount or freebies, I work at a call center right now in Sales for a well known PC manufacturer, just for passing the time mind you, I'm just waiting until I have to return back to the U.S (I'm NOT in India :lol: neither in Customer Care/Support) and I can honestly tell you 95% of the people who call us SUCK BALLS! Honestly they call us to ask the stupidest of questions! The one that I hate the most is when they have an add where it says: "Desktop Computer @ $499.99" and they call us: "Hi, what's the price of the $499.99 compute you have for sale?" so obviously I tell them: "Well, $499.99 just like the add says" and I add: "Will you be purchasing today?" and they respond: "Oh no, not today, maybe in about a month or two"... I mean wtf.
Here's another thing that pisses me off, they're purchasing a crappy $449 PC with everything and they still have the nerve to ask for a discount... how the hell can anyone be so cheap!? I mean FFS they pay us here $450 a month+crappy commission = about $600 total on this company and I work 10 hours a day and I bought this $1,600 notebook just because I needed one while I was here to replace the old one I was using... and they pay over in the U.S. $6.5 minimum wage and hour and they still can't pay $449... :x
Here's another thing that pisses me off, fucking people who speak Spanish and really shitty English and they insist on speaking that really, REALLY choppy English instead of Spanish because they say I will understand better WTF my 1st language is Spanish! And after I've made that very clear to them that they can speak in Spanish they keep on going and I can't understand them, they get pissed off and demand to talk to my manager, I just tell them it's their fault I don't understand their English, I mean, my English is not that of a person that has English as their first language but it's REALLY clear the way I speak since I studied on a British Academy until I was about 17, but fuck, c'mon I'm trying to help and they fuck it up.
Here's a fun fact: Rednecks feel like we can't do our job because we don't give discounts... O'Rly? :lol: They ask that on $360-$499 computers, if you know about margin, then you know what I mean.
Fun Fact #2: Apparently, since I'm in El Salvador and I was born here I'm NOT American :lol: I point out we're in CENTRAL AMERICA, followed by a nice "America is NOT A COUNTRY" speech followed by another "if you meant United States of America then that's another thing", why can't they just get it right?
Fun fact #3: Apparently if I speak Spanish just like they do I'm automatically their ''hermano" (Brother)... wtf? NO I'M NOT! AND I'M NOT GIVING YOU A DISCOUNT FOR CALLING ME YOUR BROTHER YOU DUMBASS! (I DON'T THINK I'D GIVE MY OWN BROTHER ONE :lol: j/k).
Fun Fact#4: We stock computers back to the ones we sold more than 6 years ago... according to some idiots who call us and say they can only find the new models on our website. :roll:
Fun Fact#5: The customer is not always right, sometimes they're blatantly wrong! Just because you want free shipping because we had it as a December special we DON'T HAVE TO HONOR IT 3 MONTHS LATER. That's a good example, another one would be that Office is included in Windows always... no it isn't... it's a fucking $149 software for the basic one, live with it
or download it like smart people do.
Fun fact#6: I give someone a $250 discount when they asked me for a $30.00 discount and I go ahead and make his/her day and they demand something more for free... :? honestly, when you're nice to them and give them your hand in help they grab you by the throat... and squeeze... hard.
Fun fact#7: According to them our $499 is overpriced for something that has a 17" Wide-screen flat-panel monitor, 1gb ram, 250gb hard drive, windows Vista Home Premium, 16x DVD/CD burner, etc... honestly I just roll my eyes and say "If you want something cheaper try eBay" :lol:
Fun Fact#8: Apparently I delivered them the a catalog they've ordered, I've always talked with them, I've always given them good discounts, I've been the one in customer care who they spoke with and I'm the guy who screwed up her order and yet this is the 1st time I've ever talked to them, how do I know it wasn't me? Well, it happened on my 1st call on my 1st day working at the company :lol: I honestly burst into laughter on that call and yes, the person calling me was very pissed. :lol: And this has happened about 20 times over the 10 months I've been there.
Fun Fact#8: If you're nice to me I'm nice to you, if you're an asshole to me then I'm an asshole to you, period. If I get a nice customer I always help them every way I can (Free shipping, a great discount, etc.) honestly, I had this customer who only had about $500 for a laptop and needed it for her son who was going to Iraq in 1 month, not only was she nice but her son was going to war FFS, I gave her a $1,200 for $499 with free next business day shipping with EVERYTHING, office 2007, vista ultimate, 3gb ram, 250gb hard drive, anti virus for 3yrs, wireless mouse, carrying case, a notebook cooler, a webcam, a dedicated video card, sound blaster audio card, etc. Even her free choice of color. :mrgreen: I felt really good. ~ Feeling good goes both ways, I had this real asshole on the phone (woman) who demanded every single thing you can imagine in a VERY rude manner, she even had the nerve to tell me I'm not doing my job correctly and if I fucked this up she was having me fired, ha! 1st I told her that if she wouldn't calm down I would hang up, she calmed down, for a moment, when I told her the price of her computer I had quoted she flipped, she demanded a $500 discount because she could buy a computer with everything I said for $500 less so I said: "Well, then why don't you go and buy it? If it's cheaper then why don't you go for it?!" she replied: "oh! I tried, they're out of stock!" (Yeah right a PC with 4gb ram, 256mb Geforce 8600GT card, vista ultimate and office PROFESSIONAL 2007 for $500 less than $1,100... RIGHT.) then she threw in the classic "I've always bought from you and as a proffered customer I deserve special treatment.. um... NO, no you DON'T, we will treat you like every customer, nicely IF you act nice as well. well, long story short I gave her a $500 PC, now, this might seem reasonable, but we have another one for $500 that has 500GB hard drive instead of 250, 1gb more ram, a better well, everything, yes she deserved the crappy one she got so screw her, if she thought she was all high and mighty well she was wrong, I'm not taking any bullshit specially since I'm working there for passing time :lol:
