I thought I was done with reps, only gens, then the bug bite me again. I'm looking at a DSN 5218 203a, with an Asian 6497 for $340. Is it worth it to upgrade to the ETA, or look around for a Unitas that matches the gen? Keep in mind this is a closed back model, what's the verdict on the Asian 6497?
What mods are worth doing to the DSN? Or is it ready to go?
Thanks

I prefer asian as they are just as reliable and if they crap out they can be replaced easily or serviced just as easy as the Swiss counterpart. Some may argue that Asian movements are louder but I've had Swiss movements that were loud. Just luck of the draw and since its closed caseback no one will notice it and it will further reduce the "tick" Spend the extra you would spend on the swiss on a nice ammo strap or something to your liking

I would get a PVD t48 from T and call it a day.

Would you have to change the tubes on the DSN case, or is it an easy swap and go?

"t" is a member of all the fora, I believe, but he spends most of his time at RWGjr. Ping him over there and I'm sure he'll hook you up.
