Hello everyone.

I have not been able to find where to make the corresponding presentation, my English is low ...

My beginner question is: I see different dealers that specifically in the Panerai brand, there are several types of movements: the most expensive is the Movement ETA 7750, that if not the same movement as the Asian 7750 Automatic Movement, 28800bph...

It really is the same movement? and so it is different: it is worth spending a little more and buy the model with ETA ??

Thank you very much to all!! I hope you have patience with me !!!:whistling:

A7750 --> made in china --> bad QC,might not have the lifespan as long as the ETA valj 7750--> harder to service --> cheaper --> 'more' reasonable for a rep
ETA7750 --> Made in swiss --> same as the movement that is used for breitling, tag heuer, longines, etc --> 'longer' lifespan, more reliable, better QC --> almost 3 times more expensive -->easier to service-->you decide it yourself

Thank you very much for your answer jembediah!

Really dealers as Pureintime advertised models with ETA Swiss watches as 7750. I trust that it is really a Swiss movement and not an Asian reproduction? Sorry if my answer is very obvious, but I'm beginner ...

Thanks again!

What jembediah said is totally true. However dont expect an ETA 7750 on a rep to be the same quality as an ETA 7750 in a Gen. The ETA 7750 on reps are usually old stock with some parts changed. The QC on this is not different to QC for a A7750. Now if you get a Brand new ETA yourself and put it in a Rep then that is whole different game. To get a rep with a "ETA" from a dealer is usually no guarantee of better reliability than A7750 nor worth the price difference.

Remember that a gen ETA 7750 costs about $450 new vs about$130 for Asian. They are a direct swap except for the chronograph second hand. As long as the subdial hands are in the native 6,9,12 position, the Asian is reliable.

Even if it‘s an older discussio (2016) it’s still helpful, I learned something new today 👍

Hello,

thank you for this post. We are in 2023 now and I would like to know if they are evolutions in the Asian 7750 automatic. Are there more reliable now ? And also what means v3 or v6 for example ?

in advance thank you

I read this frequently: the swap with a gen ETA 7750 requires adjustments with the chronograph seconds hand. Is this the same if i swap it with another asian 7750 movement?

Since they are only about 100-150$, a direct swap would be a good / cheaper option.

The older ( read 10 plus years ago) low beat Asian 7750 had the same diameter chronograph seconds hand pinion. The high beat modern is different than ETA, but as long as you stick with known makers like the seagull they will all have the same diameter pinion. With unknown manufacturers, there is no guarantee, but I've not heard of any that differ.
