I posted this topic on the replica collectors forum but I haven't got any replys so I though of posting it here aswell.

Okay so I have figured out I want to buy a Paneri PVD watch. I also figured out I want to buy it from the davidsen guy, since the pvd's he sells are getting good reviews. What I haven't figured out is what the diffrence is between the models. I like the 026 destro because it has the second dail on the right side and the wind up thing on the left. Could someone tell me what sets the models apart from each other?

There is the:
PVD 004
PVD 026 (I like this one)
PVD 195
PVD 202A AND 009
PVD 210A
PVD 218A
PVD 1950
PVD MM20

I am all confused

"The Davidsen guy"?

For goodness, sake, show a little courtesy.

How would you like to be spoken of as "the Simoh guy"?

Nice?

Not very.

You will find the answer to all your questions if you use the internet - and your eyes - for about four minutes.

But I'll be nice. Look here: http://www.viapaneristi.com/mainpam.htm

LOL...welll the davidsen's PVD is the best so far for the public i think...for your confusion of all the pam..I think you need to learn the panerai first..or someone will tell you about it ..

the one that you like 026 which you said ..it is called panerai model for lefty..you wear it on your right hand...but who cares..wear it any hands you prefer...

for all the models..they are all difference..you can read all the spec from davidsen guy himself..

i own the 202a from him...loving it every second...it is a vintage model for panerai actually...so panerai dont produce them anymore..

for all the models..they have their own history and own number of production

welcome

It's Davidsen, not Davidson. Look in the dealer section or use the search with the correct spelling and you'll find him here.

Good luck, he sells good stuff.

Here is my 195 - purchased from RavishingRick on another forum - I love it to bits. May I direct your attention to the crispness of the case? Simply stunning.

Is there any difference in the lume on dials of the pvd watches? I want the green dials to glow as much as possible in the dark hehe Does Davidsen sell the PVD 026 without a strap? I would like to add another strap to the watch because I don't think the one that comes with the watch is good enough.

Thanks for all the help guys

I think I am going to have to go with the pvd026, I like the fact that it's a lefty model, makes it abit special and cool.

So I take it the super lume is the brightest of all the lumes there is?

I don't care that much if the watch is a not totally accurate replica, the reason I am buying it is more because I like the design. Looking around on the replica collectors forum I found this post by Davidsen: http://www.replicacollector.com/members ... =23462&hl=

It says they have Super Lum dial and Hands, so I guess it's possible to get a pvd026 that glows alot from him. What about the straps, has anybody bought a watch from him without the strap?

Hey again

I have been talking to davidsan through email. It seems the 026 doesn't come with super lumed hands and dial :( I find that wierd since it says so in and old post I found made by him on the replica collectors board.

Anyways....

Maybe it's not the 026 I am looking for after all. I am stil having a hard time telling the different models apart. Maybe you guys could help me out. Here is what I am looking for
- Dark PVD case, obviously
- strongly lumed hands and dials, I really want the watch to glow
- Small second dial, doesn't matter if it's on the left or right side
- Comes fully assembled
- Size of aprox. 44mm

It doesn't have to be a left hand model, the dial doesn't have to be old and vintage.

Does the 195 pvd davidsan sell fill my request?
Or should I go for another model, and if so which one?

Best regards,
a very confused Simon

What is with the lug screws that don't sit flush on some of Davidsen's pics? Is that on purpose?

if u don't mind a pseudo-fantasy, u can try a pvd 111 with sandwich dial which replicates the look of the ceramic 111. try to get davidsen to use superlume on the dial if not u can send it to finepics for his toxic relume.

i believe the 195 uses normal lume insead of superlume if i remember correctly..better to confirm with him. :)

Yes, the 195 does not come with C3 superlume. I'm going to get this done to mine.

Maybe I should just buy the 026 destro and send it to this fine pics guy and get it relumed? :)
Or I could buy the 111 from davidsen, it seems it's newer than the 026 and more accurate and get that relumed? There is also the 195 hmmmm

Guess what!! I have just ordered the PVD 111 from Davidsen with super lumed hands and dials, can't wait til I receive it! :D Now I need to find a nice strap for it, I am thinking of going with a nice leather strap.

What do you guess think about this strap? Would it go nice with a pvd watch?

Please post some pictures of the aftermarked strap you have bought for your pvd so I can get some ideas :)

I also feel that Davidsens PVD watches that I have had pass through my hands are just great watches. I have had a lot or reps pass through my hands, and i have told david this, His work really is a masterpiece. You can just feel the time and effort and attention to detail that he takes.

I really like the DavinSen strap. But it needs a little work.

As it arrives, it is dry and lifeless. No problem - just treat it with leather food - the results are dramatic. I use "Lord Sheraton Leather Balsam", available from Tesco at about a pound a pot. Ziggy prefers to treat his straps with Mink Oil - but won't tell me how he gets it out of the mink :D

Here is a "before and after" shot:

This strap came from Dani - but is identical to my original MMX from David. Once treated, I think it works well with the PVD finish.

Another good choice would be one of V's latest creations - if he has any left.
