I want to put a t crown on my pam but he has sold out of the ones with 1.2mm stem and only has 0.9mm stem. Does anyone know how difficult it would be to transfer my current 1.2mm stem to a t crown and what I would have to do?

I contacted t and he said it is possible with a stem adapter, whats this? But also that it may not be that easy.

Also does anyone know the best place to buy the small rubber o ring that goes in the crown to help waterproof it? Im in UK by the way.

Any help would be much appreciated!!

cheers

There are two options. First one is to buy a new stem off eabay. Should be about 3-4 dollars. Another idea, which is what I've done in the past is go bust some blue loctite and kind trial and error fit it until it works with the T crown. Remove the stem from your old crown. Remove the O-ring from your old crown and but it on the T crown.

Cheers coldi, Ill give that a go. Any tips on getting the old stem out, i.e. will I need to unscrew it or should i just pull it with some pliers or something?

Thanks again

Research and read about removing a stem depending on your movement. It took me less than 1/2 hour to do my T crown on a 6497 including cutting the new stem. It helped greatly that I planned ahead, had the right tools and read up before doing ANYTHING.
I'd get a new winding stem to fit the crown, but that's me.

hubrisin, thanks for your reply. I can remove the stem from the movement no problem, I have done this loads of times and there are loads of tutorials on it. I mean removing the stem from the actual crown, but i guess if your advising buying a new stem anyway I wouldnt need to do this.
