I especially love the part about rep buyers buying watches to make a (false) statement about themselves and that the gen buyers buy 'em becuase they "admire the history", etc.
You must not own any gens. Every gen owner I know carries a printed history of the watch they are wearing that day. If anyone ever makes a comment about the watch, that person is forced at gun point to read the full history that very second.
I was out with a buddy who was wearing a VC and someone made a comment.....we were sitting there for 2 and a half hours while the poor guy read the full history of the company and each employee.
Seriously, gens are great and it would be wonderful if everyone could afford all the watches they liked, but it just can't be. So some of us get gens and some of get reps. The reps are reps and that is all they will ever be. We like them for their style and the name on the dial; pretty much the same reason that gen owners like theirs. We just don't get the full printed history in hardback when we buy a rep.
