Cartier Ballon Bleu 36mm for wife, which version?

Hi guys, I'm looking to buy a watch for wife, and from what I've read, most people recommend Cartier Ballon Bleu in 36mm size with no diamond.

I've been searching in PT's site and only found this one

$500+ is a bit too much for me, so I've contacted my TD and he offer the quartz version (with no big second hand) for $148 but it uses mineral glass instead of sapphire.

So I would like to ask your opinion on few things:
1. Does anyone have experience with both version? How different is the case & crystal quality? Does the mineral glass is also domed as per gen?

2. Is there any "in between" version? Somewhere in the range of 200-300 with the best case & crystal, but with asian movement

I myself is actually also in the process of finding the ballon for my lady. I am looking at 28mm or 33mm. Apparently I cant find any 33mm (perhaps never repped). The 28mm seem to have the wrong dial. The gen is a plain dial but all reps seem to have pave.

Hi guys, just to update you with my purchase.

Finally I got the quartz 36mm with ss bracelet from sead. I forgot the exact price but it's around $220ish iirc.

The quality is really good. I will post pictures of it later on. Wife is very happy, especially when she found out that Kate Middleton wears the exact same model... But I think she wears Gen... =p

I'm also looking around for a good looking quartz 33/36mm cartier BB for my lady. The finishing is more important to me than the accuracy. Quite like the look of the two tone watches. This one is for a girl friend rather than the wife, the future wife can get a gen one (or at least one with a replica box
