Among all the reps I have seen, this is closest to gen.... in price.

I wouldn't spend that much money on a rep. Ultimately, it's your call.

way too much for a rep.

the regular ballon bleu is good enough without paying that much.

Doesn't matter how close it is compare to gen, a rep is always a rep and I would not spend that amount of money on one out of factory. I have bought a 36mm SS BB couple years ago and IMO, the quality and look is great and I would consider it as a very well made rep.

Hi, $498 gets You exactly the same with so-called swiss ETA and I would even go with the cheaper Asian ETA if available for that model. The decoration on the movement (closed caseback) doesn´t make it more gen anyway, just (much) more expensive. Only consideration would be to go for a stainless steel version as those are closer to gen. Gen is solid gold, rep is gold-plated, Gold is heavier than steel so there is a weight difference. With the price difference You can get a top model tank or tank chrono too:)

Thanks a lot guys. It helped a lot. Ill go with the one in 500 range. I cared too much about the movement and its close caseback as one of the friends mentioned.

the "so called swiss movement" is probably swiss, if the watch is 36mm. I don't think there is an Asian version of a movement that is that small.

Get the quartz and it will be 100-200 dollars for probably the same case!

I won't pay more than $200 as soon as I see that faulty tiny date window :).

Never understood why these Cartier reps cost so much.

I would never pay that kinda money for a rep. Ever. Closest would be like $600 or whatever to get a tourbillion.

If a watch says "automatic" on the dial, please don't buy a quartz version. That's like the worst thing you could do.

I would only consider a quartz rep if the gen didn't have a second hand.
