So, just received my Calibre Diver....and although I am happy with it aesthetically.... it won't come to life. Unscrewed crown pulled out to position 1 to wind it but nothing. Also a whirring noise when I shake it.... You guys reckon it's dead..or am I missing something.?

Took it to a local watchsmith in Essex who was happy to take a look. He found a hair inside the movement. Once he removed it. The watch was and still is perfect.

It happens sometimes with Reps. I once had a Rep with a dead ant [no kidding] on the watch dial. It was a very small ant. But visible as a speck when you shake it. The TD replaced it. It had to be alive when it got in there. One of the letterings was smudged a bit as it crawled in there. The dial lettering paint must have still been 'wet' when he dropped in there. I am not making this up. The TD got a kick out of it ! I got a new watch in no time. It can happen.
