Calibre de Cartier thread

It seems there isn't an official Calibre de Cartier thread....

I've actually just noticed huge flaws with the face - hands, 12

I'm just beginning to research these Cartier's, but what I understand is the mov't is a huge tell. If you can get past that, then a lot of people have said PC's version is great.

What did you notice? The only thing that glares at me is the date font.

Look at the 12 font. Totally wrong - a line along the bottom. Hands are the wrong colour - they should have a black line around them.

You're right, that does look a lot better. Guess that proves for me not to believe Cartier reviews from RG. (not that it's a huge surprise)

Subdial and datewheel background color are flawed even in the best rep version...

I found that the case shape in cross section is flawed, and in particular, the lugs have too much of a curve to it, which means that the replica is more stubby than the elegant lines of the gen.

I don't beleive anyone has mentioned it yet, but the ring around the subdial intersects the canon pin on the gen. On the PC model the ring is completely below the CP and does not even touch it.

The rep is fairly accurate if I can remember correctly. Quite a few people have bought it and been a bit let down with quality. The lug join is the part that put me off.

You´re welcome, and I´m sure you are not going to be disapointed with this watch.

It´s an impressive watch and is accurate aswell, despite some minor flaws as we would expect on the reps.
These flaws don´t take the shine of the watch away, and are not reasons to keep anybody off it. Highly recommended.
