oh man, the money this thing has cost me...
I paid for the watch by western union online, choosing their WUPay option.
that's basically a bank transfer from me to WUPay then the funds are available.
well after a week of waiting for it to go through, puretime billing was getting
pretty upset and understandable so. I had to go make a second western
union payment, this time in cash at the store with money in minutes. the
first transfer was cancelled and a refund check is being mailed to me from
Western Union I guess. so already we're talking 1100 bucks spent.
I get talked into buying her a jacobstrap as a birthday gift due to what
the forum guys were saying about the rep strap. so I ordered one of those,
and that's another 320 bucks I'll never see, lol.
Then the watch arrives dead. It's CNY, so I have to wait to ship it back,
but get offered to have a local repair done for a small discount on future
purchase. fine, off to vac for another 275-400 bucks out of my pocket.
In the end I'll get a watch I don't want with a nice strap I have no use for.
I'll get a small refund on a future puretime purchase and hopefully get back
500 bucks from Western Union. If the watch goes for sale it'll have like 1300
bucks invested in it, so I have no idea how that would end up. if you
ask me it's just a huge mess.
